The band room was filled with the sound of percussion, brass, and woodwind instruments on the thirteenth day of December. A lot of time and effort was put in for the spectacular outcome of the band concert.
“In my 24 years of teaching, this has been one of the greatest group of students I have ever taught,” said Mr. Joey Rackley, the music director at Greene Central.

“The students have come a long way since last year.”
Whenever you enter the band room, you get a sense of comfortability. They all laugh, joke, and have a good time but when its time to get to work they are serious.     They have a very relaxed relationship with their teacher and other fellow band member that allows them to be closer bonded and this makes them a better band.
“I truly enjoy working with the youth in this county,” says Rackley, “They can get ‘rowdy’ at times but they are genuinely a good group of kids.”
Rackley teaches percussion, color guard, and band courses at Greene Central High School.
